About Cher Degre

Cher is a research scientist devoted to studying the mystery of the flower maiden, Cheza, and Cheza's relationship to the equally mysterious Book of the Moon and its prophecy of Paradise. Cher's workaholic personality caused her marriage to detective Hubb Lebowski to end in divorce. Despite this, Cher and Hubb still have very strong feelings for each other. Since Cher's natural curiosity and intelligence has led to her to learn more about the Flower Maiden, the wolves, the legend of Paradise, and the enigmatic nobles responsible for creating Cheza in the first place, she finds herself in the thick of things when trouble arrives.

That trouble arrives in the form of Lord Darcia, a noble who needs Cheza to revive his seriously ill lover, Harmona (Hamona.) Darcia and Cher frequently crossed paths and for some reason (perhaps because Cher reminds him of Harmona), Darcia tolerated her presence and let her live. Eventually, Darcia's quest to reunite with his beloved Harmona was closely paralleled to Hubb's own attempt to reunite with Cher.

Cher was a great character; smart, self-reliant, a woman of action, and strong. Her love for Hubb also made her very sympathetic, and I was rooting for her to find what she was searching for and to reunite with Hubb.
