About the Site

You might be asking: Why another Cowboy Bebop website? What’s different about this one?

There’s certainly a lot of excellent fan websites out there, as well as beautiful character shrines and ’shipper sites, but I haven’t run across many sites devoted to the more serious subject of critical analysis of the show’s story and characters.

True, not everybody finds these things interesting, but Bebop Musings is for those who DO love all that analysis stuff. If you’re after a general fan site or ’shipper site, this page probably won’t trip your trigger, but if you poke around you still might find a few things of interest anyway.

For me, much of the appeal of Cowboy Bebop lies in its rich characters and subtle, complex plot — both of which provide lots of opportunities for analysis, musings, “what if” scenarios, and general debating.

If you’ve written an analysis on theme, character, plot, symbolism, etc., that you’d like to share, please contact me. If you’ve written detailed reviews of the episodes and would like to share them, I’d love to hear from you as well.

I’m not claiming that my views are the correct ones, just tossing out some ideas and inviting other like-minded Cowboy Bebop fans “to think about it…”

Please note that essays contain spoilers and some include lots of pictures, so they may take a while to load. Although I don’t update the site often (because it literally takes me several months to write each one; I work on them a little here and there when I have time), I hope you’ll find any new musings worth the wait.
